It´s a Wrap! Read to discover why and how we´re concluding our Summer Campaign "JDD Summer Sarong x The Pacific"
Posted by SABINA VALENCIA
We´re thrilled to announce the successful completion of The JDD Summer Sarong X The Pacific Campaign, created in collaboration with the local foundation, Plástico Precioso Uramba. This impactful campaign aimed to support education and environmental conservation in Colombia’s Pacific Coast, donating a portion of sales from Juan de Dios’s signature silk sarongs—the ultimate summer essential.
The profits from the campaign went towards crafting 16 desks made from 140 pounds (64 kg) of recycled plastic, created locally in partnership with Plástico Precioso Uramba. These sustainable desks were delivered to the Institución Etnoeducativa de Juanchaco, providing access to rotating classrooms for over 400 children. This initiative not only offers a more eco-conscious learning environment but also promotes conservation by repurposing plastic waste into essential educational tools.
This campaign underscores Juan de Dios’s dedication to sustainable and socially responsible fashion. "Juan de Dios has always been about more than just fashion,” says María Valencia, Founder and Creative Director of Juan de Dios. “Our brand celebrates leisure, nature, and mindful living. Through this campaign, we’re offering our customers a unique summer piece and a chance to support the preservation of the stunning Colombian Pacific Coast while aiding children’s education in the region.”
Juan de Dios extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported this initiative. The purchase of each JDD sarong contributed to a transformative mission—supporting education in a vulnerable region and fostering biodiversity conservation by turning ocean waste into functional educational tools. Thank you for joining us in making a meaningful impact.
